The company "Chelyabkranservice" has completed research and development work on the creation of a railway crane with a lifting capacity of 250 tons. The results of the FM-250 project development were published in the official Telegram channel of the enterprise.
The crane is designed to perform emergency recovery work, installation of span structures of railway bridges and construction on overpasses of high-speed lines. The design lifting capacity is 250 tons with a boom reach of 8 meters and about 80 tons with a reach of 27–28 meters.
The machine is made on an eight-axle chassis with a gauge of 1520 mm. To ensure stability, a removable support trolley under the outrigger, installed in front of the automatic coupler, additional platforms with counterweights, balancing retractable supports and a boom with an independent movement function are used.
FM-250 continues the line of diesel-hydraulic cranes of the company, which includes models FM-150 (150 t) and FM-150U (200 t). Currently, a serial order from Russian Railways has not been formed, but an industrial company from Siberia has shown interest in the equipment.
