Yandex has released the official "Yandex Pay" app for Samsung Galaxy Watch smartwatches, restoring the ability to make contactless payments using the watch.
Device owners can now make purchases without a phone, including payments with a "Yandex Pay" card and in installments through the "Split" service. In the future, it will be possible to pay from accounts of other banks.
The app works autonomously and does not require a network or smartphone connection. Up to 20 transactions per day can be made offline, which is convenient for jogging, exercising, or shopping. Yandex emphasizes that this is the first official app for Wear OS in the Russian market.
The program is available for free via Google Play for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and newer models. Wear OS watches are compatible with any Android smartphone and can independently receive calls, messages, and connect to the Internet thanks to eSIM with LTE support.
