Through Fog and Clouds: Russia's First Augmented Reality Display Created for Civil Aviation

LOMO Completes Production of DDR-M Prototype — A Key Element of New Generation Airborne Avionics

LOMO — an enterprise within the Kalashnikov Concern — has completed the creation of the first prototype of an augmented reality display (DDR-M), designed for integration into the onboard systems of modern domestic civil aircraft.

The latest device projects a collimated image of critical information — flight and navigation, warning, and signaling — directly into the pilot's field of vision, overlaying data onto the real image of the external environment. This approach significantly enhances the crew's situational awareness, especially in conditions of limited visibility, such as fog, snowfall, or low cloud cover during landing.

The creation of the innovative display prototype is an important step, demonstrating the professional skills of Kalashnikov and LOMO in the development of advanced avionics.
