Specialists of the Research Institute of Technical Physics and Automation (JSC "NIITFA", part of Rosatom) are developing a new version of the Brahum gamma-therapy device for the treatment of oncological diseases. This was announced by Alexander Tuzov, Deputy General Director of JSC "Rosatom Nauka".
According to him, "Brahum" is being prepared for sale to other countries. In particular, the device will receive updated software with the interface translated into foreign languages. Applicators will be improved to the level of the best Western models. In addition, the developers want to reduce the size of "Brahum".
We expect to reach a price of approximately 24 million rubles per unit, and if this happens, we will be able to compete with foreign manufacturers.
The gamma-therapy device is designed for the treatment of cancer:
- organs of the small pelvis
- mammary gland
- esophagus
- nasopharynx
- oral cavity
The equipment is already used in medical institutions in Ulyanovsk, Novosibirsk, Tula and Donetsk. It has also been issued a registration certificate in Belarus.
