Russia has begun actively constructing shelters at airfields for tactical and army aviation. A photo of a Su-35S fighter of the "4++" generation in a protective structure has gone viral online.

Protective hangar for Su-35S

Apparently, this is a hangar without ground penetration. Such shelters are designed to increase the protection of aircraft on the ground — from shrapnel, drones, shock waves, and fragments in the event of possible attacks.

The structures are assembled from modular elements, which allows them to be quickly deployed at airfields.

The Su-35S is one of the key fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia. The aircraft is equipped with a powerful radar, is nimble at low speeds, and is capable of carrying a wide range of weapons.

The appearance of shelters indicates that the airfield infrastructure continues to be strengthened, and the aircraft receive an additional level of protection at their bases.
