Rostelecom Declares the Impossibility of Completely Deleting Its Digital Projection

The company urged people not to fear data leaks

Alexey Chugunov, Vice President for Development and Information Security at Rostelecom, stated that there is no need to fear personal data leaks. The digital space has long become an extension of the real world, and people should get used to the fact that their digital projection cannot be completely deleted.

Stolen data does not disappear but "settles, becomes structured, and prepares for use," creating risks of pressure and fraud. Chugunov emphasized that the fear of leaks is often exaggerated: a person is already present online through online stores, browsing history, and other digital traces, and this is a natural part of modern existence.

The expert urged replacing anxiety with digital hygiene and conscious online behavior. He reminded that leaks are an inevitable consequence of system vulnerabilities and the financial motivation of attackers. As long as this model is profitable for hackers, the number of attacks will remain high.
