In 2026, Russia will complete the execution of the export contract for the supply of five S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems to India. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Republic, Rajnath Singh.
Russia will complete the implementation of the contract signed in 2018 for the supply of five S-400 SAM systems in 2026.
According to him, the republic may discuss the possibility of supplying new "Triumphs" during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the republic on December 4-5. Singh recalled that India has a large defense program with Russia.
Discussion is not excluded, but one should not expect any statements. The negotiations with the Russian leader will consider broader aspects of cooperation in the field of defense.
As a reminder, Russia and India signed a contract in 2018 for the supply of five regimental sets of S-400 Triumph systems for $5.43 billion.
It also became known that the Indian Ministry of Defense approved the purchase from Russia of five more squadrons of S-400 Triumph and missiles for them. The department also supported the signing of a comprehensive annual contract for the maintenance of the complexes.
