The Russian electric car «Amberauto A5» has exceeded the mark of 1,000 cars sold. The anniversary car went to Krasnodar.
According to Avtotor agency, which produces the model, «Amberauto» A5 quickly gained popularity in the Russian market due to a combination of price, equipment and government support.
The electric sedan is assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. The A5 is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of about 160 hp, a battery with a capacity of 60.2 kWh and a range of up to 520 km according to the CLTC methodology.
Key success factors were government subsidies and preferential lending programs, which lowered the entry threshold for buyers. Localization of production ensured the stability of supplies and allowed adapting the car to Russian conditions.
The buyer of the anniversary car received a symbolic gift — a box of amber with the brand logo. Amber was chosen as a symbol of the Kaliningrad region, where the model is produced.
