In Russia, the production of passenger cars has almost halved. The output of trucks and buses has also decreased. According to Rosstat, 50 thousand "cars" were assembled last month, which is only 53.3% of the figures for the same period last year.
In addition, in October 2025, the assembly of passenger cars fell by 24.8% compared to September. Since the beginning of the year, Russian car factories have produced 537 thousand cars, which is 9.6% less than in the same period last year.
A similar trend is observed in other sectors of the automotive industry. For example, in October, truck production decreased by 41.3% year-on-year, but compared to September, there was a slight increase of 2.8%. For the period from January to October, production in this segment decreased by 31.7%. The assembly of buses weighing more than 5 tons also fell by 35.5% since the beginning of the year.
