Information that mobile internet was allegedly disabled in the Ulyanovsk region until the end of the SMO is not true. This was reported by the press service of the regional Center for Regional Management (CRM).
The agency explained that the restrictions only apply to areas around critical special-purpose facilities and are aimed at strengthening security measures. Similar measures are in effect in all regions of Russia on an ongoing basis, not only during the introduction of a drone hazard regime.
In fact, restrictions on the provision of mobile internet services are geographically selective - around critical special-purpose facilities, and not throughout the region. The reason is to strengthen security measures.
Earlier, the media and Telegram channels reported an alleged complete shutdown of mobile internet in the region until the end of the SMO. The government of the Ulyanovsk region called these reports a misinterpretation of the words of the Minister of Digital Development of the region, Oleg Yagfarov.
The minister explained that it is only about expanding the radius of communication restrictions around strategic facilities, and not about terminating the provision of services throughout the region.
According to regional media, the expansion of security zones affected some residential areas and social facilities that fell within the radius of restrictions. At the same time, the authorities are forming "white lists" of sites that remain accessible even in areas with limited communication - including "Gosuslugi", Yandex services, VKontakte, Ozon, Wildberries and the "Mir" payment system.
