Serial production of new low-floor city buses SIMAZ-4282 has been launched at the Simbirsk Automobile Plant (SIMAZ) in Ulyanovsk, according to the Federal Fund for Industrial Development (FFID).
The company presented the model in two versions at once - medium and large class. The production capacity of the line will be up to 1.5 thousand vehicles per year.
To launch mass production, the plant underwent a large-scale modernization: welding and assembly areas were updated, robotic systems, laser cutting and a modern painting complex were introduced.
Investments in the project exceeded 750 million rubles, of which 101 million were provided by the Industrial Development Fund under the "Auto Components" program.
SIMAZ-4282 is equipped with a gas engine running on methane, providing a range of more than 400 km on a single refueling. The bus is equipped with an automatic transmission and an electric retarder, and the low-floor layout makes boarding and disembarking passengers convenient, including people with limited mobility.
In the future, the company plans to expand its model range and increase the level of localization of components in order to increase the share of domestic passenger transport in the domestic market.
