"Progress MS‑33" undergoing tests in anechoic chamber at Baikonur

Tests are conducted before the mission to the ISS

Preparation of the Progress MS‑33 transport cargo ship for the 94th resupply mission to the International Space Station continues at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

As part of the work schedule, tests have begun in the anechoic chamber of the assembly and test building of site 254, the press service of RSC Energia reported.

An anechoic chamber is a room with a radio-absorbing coating where signals from the outside do not penetrate, and the walls scatter radio waves, creating the illusion of open space. In such conditions, specialists check the electromagnetic compatibility of onboard equipment, including the ship's rendezvous and docking systems.

The tests are carried out by engineers from RSC Energia and the Yuzhny Space Center. After checking the operation of the radio equipment, Progress MS‑33 will return to the complex's workplace to prepare for pneumovacuum tests.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the cargo ship to the ISS is scheduled for December 2025. The mission will deliver the necessary cargo and materials for the station crew.
