Roscosmos has presented a one-minute video showing how cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky successfully completed their seven-hour spacewalk. Outside the ISS, they installed complex scientific equipment, which, despite the conditions of weightlessness, required tremendous effort from them.
In orbit, they replaced the battery in a special apparatus where crystals are grown. In fact, these are semiconductors that are used to produce solar panels. But the most difficult task was the installation of a plasma injector. It sends special pulses towards the Earth. With their help, scientists are finding out how the launch of satellites affects the upper atmosphere.
It is noted that the study of plasma on the ISS will become the basis for the development of new engines for satellites at the Moscow Aviation Institute.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new mechanism for rotating the solar panels of the Express-RV satellite was manufactured by specialists of the company "Reshetnev."
