The Russian company "RN-Yuganskneftegaz" (a subsidiary of PJSC "NK "Rosneft") conducted 1328 hydraulic fracturing operations (fracking - a method of increasing oil or gas production from a well) in a month. This was reported by the press service of "Rosneft".
The number of hydraulic fracturing operations is a third more than usual. The record was made possible thanks to precise engineering solutions, the development of corporate oilfield services and a team of professionals.
The company emphasized that, thanks to innovative drilling methods and the use of mobile pipelines, the flow rate of new wells (the volume of oil that steadily flows from a well per unit of time) has more than doubled.
What is Hydraulic Fracturing?
Fluid is pumped into the well under high pressure, which creates fractures in the oil and gas reservoir and ensures the flow of hydrocarbons. Proppant is also added to the fluid - special granules to fix the fractures. Fracking is used in the development of new oil reservoirs, as well as for extracting oil from wells where production is impossible by other methods.

"RN-Yuganskneftegaz" accounts for about 30% of Rosneft's total production volume. The company conducts geological exploration and develops fields in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. Over the entire period of operation, the company has produced more than 2.7 billion tons of oil.
