Specialists of the RESHETNEV company, which is part of Roscosmos, have created an innovative two-stage mechanics unit. The development is designed to optimize the energy balance of the promising Express-RV satellite.
The developed new mechanism is designed to rotate solar panels. It will provide the ability to rotate the satellite panels in two planes, which will increase its energy balance. This decision was made taking into account the specifics of the ballistic construction of the orbital grouping.
The solar panels of the Express-RV are located on the opposite side relative to the antenna unit. The use of this development will ensure a positive energy balance of the spacecraft.
The first prototype of the device is already undergoing ground tests to confirm functionality and resistance to temperature and vibration.
