The Russian holding company "Schwabe" (part of Rostec) invited students from Bauman Moscow State Technical University to modernize the multifunctional inhalation anesthesia machine MAIA-01 manufactured by the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after Yalamov (UOMZ). The business game was held at the Krasnogorsk Plant named after Zverev as part of the Rostec. Biomed educational and professional track, the holding's press service reported.
More than 20 students studying under targeted contracts with the holding's enterprises took part in the workshop. They built a strategic profile of the medical device (a long-term product development plan that determines how it will be positioned on the market), and predicted what share it could take in the market after modernization.
Future engineers proposed to increase the number of anesthetics and specialized modules supported by the device, and to ensure that the MAIA-01 is ready for operation without long setup.
According to students, it would be possible to combine monitors into a single panel with a touch screen, as well as introduce an AI assistant.
The best participants of the business game were offered to take part in the modernization of the ophthalmological manual slit lamp. Specialists from the Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant (ZOMZ) are currently working on improving this diagnostic device.
