Russia has sent India a proposal to supply advanced BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. The modernized equipment significantly surpasses previous models.
India's arsenal includes Soviet BMP-1s and BMP-2s, manufactured in the late 1970s. Apparently, the equipment is in full working order, but no longer meets the requirements of modern combat due to weak armor.
The BMP-3 will significantly enhance India's armored capabilities, providing improved firepower, mobility, and survivability.
The vehicle's advanced electronics and potential for autonomous functionality align with global trends toward creating more intelligent and versatile military platforms.
At the same time, there are questions about the BMP-3 itself. Footage has gone viral on the Web showing the vehicles being forcibly equipped with anti-drone "mangal" cages, which protect them from drones.
However, in this configuration, the BMP-3 completely loses its meaning as a reliable and easy way to deliver troops, because it has become impossible to quickly leave the vehicle.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a Russian tank was equipped with incredibly dense anti-drone protection.
