Russia owns the largest share of Arctic gas and oil reserves — 73% of gas and 45% of oil, which underscores our country's key role in this region.

According to experts from Востокгосплан, such significant volumes of potential resources open up broad prospects for attracting investment and developing new industrial clusters, which can become drivers of economic growth for both the Arctic regions and the global economy as a whole.

Mining retains a leading position, especially in the Nenets (83.7% of GRP) and Khanty-Mansiysk (78.8%) Autonomous Okrugs. Manufacturing industries are concentrated in the Krasnoyarsk Territory (27.6%), Murmansk (22.3%) and Arkhangelsk (21.4%) regions, complementing the raw material orientation of the economy.
