Gorky Automobile Plant has released a new modification of the "Gazelle NN" with an extra-long wheelbase — 4245 mm. This is a record for the family: the previous longest version had a base of 3745 mm, meaning the new "Gazelle" has been stretched by almost half a meter.
Along with the extended frame, the car received a reinforced rear suspension to improve stability and reliability under load.
According to company representatives, the demand for such vehicles is small but stable. Previously, customers had to turn to private companies that independently lengthened the chassis. Now GAZ offers a factory version that fully complies with technical standards and safety requirements.
Due to the increased body length, the production process had to be restructured. The assembly of the new "Gazelle NN" takes place in two stages: first, the car is assembled on the main assembly line, then extenders for the spars and adjacent units are installed in a separate area. This made it possible to maintain production efficiency and quality control.
