Detailed characteristics of the new Russian "Ignis" mine-clearing laser system, designed to destroy mines at a safe distance for sappers, have become known. The new product has already been successfully tested at the training ground.
The "Ignis" system includes a laser emitter with a camera, a battery and a generator. The weight of the device with the battery is about 50 kg.
If there is a detonator inside, the mine explodes. If not, it burns out on the spot. The advantage of the technology is that a person does not have to approach a dangerous object to eliminate it. That is, the sapper discovered it, recorded it, and then the machine comes into play.
The power of "Ignis" is 1 kilowatt. The operating cycle is five minutes of active mode, 15 is a break, since the equipment heats up during operation and needs to cool down.
At the same time, the designers themselves clarified that it takes only a few tens of seconds to burn through the mine's hull, so that's enough.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Zanoza" fiber-optic FPV drone developed by the "Groza" project hits 80% of targets.
