Fraudsters have come up with an unusual scam. They scare Russians with a new tax. The messages come allegedly on behalf of various banks, stating that funds will supposedly be debited from the account. It is claimed that you need to log into your personal account and sign a waiver. All these messages, including the one about the new tax, are fake.
By clicking on the link in the letter, a fake bank website will open, where you need to specify your phone number to log into your personal account and sign a "tax cancellation application".
The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the attackers stylize letters for specific banks, and the amount of the fake tax varies: from several tens of thousands of rubles to several hundreds of thousands. The attackers want the person to enter their personal data into the form, which will allow them to access their personal account.
Recall that banks do not send letters in which you need to go to your personal account and enter data. Security experts remind that in case of any suspicious messages or calls, you should stop communicating and call the bank back.
Earlier, www1.ru wrote about how fraudsters are trying to deceive Sberbank by bringing fake documents to the operating office. In the first quarter of 2024, experts discovered 20 such fakes, in the second — 60, and in the third — 600.
