The next launch of the Russian spacecraft "Luna-26" is scheduled for 2028. The national project "Cosmos", which includes plans for lunar exploration, was recently approved. This project envisages the creation of seven spacecraft (SC) of this series.
The "Luna-26" project with an orbital spacecraft is currently in the stage of manufacturing components, including scientific instruments and service systems. This was announced by the director of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Anatoly Petrukovich.
According to the scientist, Russian cosmonautics has lagged behind in the new stage of the "lunar race", but it has a chance to catch up. Until 2030, all countries plan to conduct "sighting" landings to test technologies and select landing sites. Russia's main task is to eliminate the backlog and successfully realize its space ambitions.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia plans to send seven automatic stations to the Moon by 2036.
