The research vessel "Akademik M.A. Lavrentyev" returned to the port of Vladivostok on September 10, 2025, after successfully completing its 98th expeditionary voyage.
Expeditionary work on the vessel resumed after repairs and equipping it with modern scientific equipment. This was reported by the press service of the National Operator of the Research Fleet (NatsONIF).
Scientists conducted a series of studies in the field of paleoceanography, paleoclimatology, and the study of marine ecosystems.
The international expedition on the modernized research vessel took place in the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean and in the Bering Sea. Scientists from the V.I. Il'ichev Pacific Oceanological Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as researchers from the People's Republic of China, took an active part in it.
The research vessel (NIS) "Akademik M. A. Lavrentyev" was built according to project P-4630 in Finland.
