«Технологии нежности»: Путина впечатлили российской разработкой для дистанционного поглаживания кошек

The method developed by scientists from "Sirius" allows transmitting tactile sensations from an image on the screen to receptors

At the Sirius University of Science and Technology, Russian President Vladimir Putin was presented with a technology that allows transmitting tactile sensations through the screen.

A Russian-speaking citizen of Estonia, who worked in Germany and, thanks to grant support, has now come to Sirius, is developing a very interesting approach - we call it "tactile sensation". This is a way to make a person feel a virtual image. That is, he is developing algorithms and devices that allow transmitting tactile sensations from an image on the screen to receptors.
Roman Ivanov, Chairman of the Scientific Council of Sirius University.

He illustrated the effect with a simple example: "In fact, you can feel the cat's fur by stroking the phone screen showing a cat." "Really?" Putin responded.

Experts expect that this technology will find application in various fields, such as conducting remote operations by surgeons or restoring tactile sensitivity in patients with limb prostheses.
