In Russia, AvtoVAZ is recalling 22,936 Lada Niva Legend and Lada Niva Travel cars to install control units for the emergency call system ("ERA-GLONASS") and control units for the airbag system (SRS). This was reported by Rosstandart.
The recall includes 8,912 Lada Niva Legend cars sold from October 31, 2021, to May 2, 2024, and 14,024 Lada Niva Travel cars sold from October 2021 to November 2023. All cars will have the necessary units installed free of charge at the nearest dealerships.
For Lada Niva Legend, the installation of "ERA-GLONASS" units and airbag system (SRS) is provided. In Lada Niva Travel, only the installation of emergency call units is planned. Owners of cars subject to recall will be notified in writing or by phone.
You can independently check whether a car is subject to recall on the Rosstandart website or through the Auto.ru service. The manufacturer recommends not postponing a visit to the dealer to ensure the car is fully ready for operation and the safety of the driver and passengers.
Timely installation of safety units prevents potential risks in accidents, guarantees the correct operation of emergency systems, and meets modern safety standards.
Thus, AvtoVAZ's recall campaign is aimed at improving the safety of Lada Niva owners and complying with the requirements of Russian legislation on equipping cars with emergency response systems.
