The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has begun testing a special version of the «Sobol NN» for the patrol service in the Murmansk region. This is reported by Quto. Tests started in early September.
For a month, the car will operate beyond the Arctic Circle. Patrolmen will have to check its resistance to low temperatures and difficult road conditions. Previously, such a car was already tested by police officers in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The «Sobol NN» is equipped with a communication system, a loudspeaker, five external and three internal cameras. The body provides a working area for processing documents, a compartment for isolating detainees, and a cabinet for protective equipment with bulletproof vests and helmets.
The police traditionally use UAZ vehicles. However, the «Loaf» is outdated, and the «Patriot» is considered less convenient. The department hopes that the new model will be able to replace these cars.
