Russia is exploring plans to invest in the production of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter at Indian enterprises amid growing partnership with New Delhi, according to a source in the Ministry of Defense of the South Asian Republic.
According to them, the project may be revived taking into account the current situation in the world, despite the US desire to promote the F-35 fighter for deliveries to India.
The Russian side is currently studying the possibility of investing in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which already produces Su-30MKI fighters. In addition to it, there are other companies in India that can produce the Su-57, which will reduce production costs.
About 10 years ago, India participated in a program with the Russian Federation to develop a fifth-generation fighter, but then refused to participate in it.
The Su-57 is the only fifth-generation fighter in the world that has proven its effectiveness in countering Western air defense systems in real combat conditions, including the American Patriot.
The aircraft is characterized by low visibility to enemy locators and can use a wide range of guided high-precision weapons.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec revealed the features of the Malka howitzer after modernization.
