The first test batch of Changan cars has been assembled at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad using the large-unit assembly method. Avtotor-Avtotrans (part of Avtotor Holding) has initiated the certification process for these cars. Car kits for assembly are supplied directly by Chongqing Changan Automobile Co.
Vehicle type approval has already been obtained for Changan S203. It is noteworthy that the certificate also includes another name — OIC-3. There is reason to believe that this may be another "proxy brand" designed to obscure the real activities of the state-owned Chinese automaker Changan in Russia.
CS55 Plus, a compact crossover that has already proven itself and sells well in Russia (after the restyling, it is known as UNI-S, although in China it retains the name CS55 Plus), has one of the highest levels of residual value in the secondary market among Changan cars. This is indirect evidence of their reliability.
