Fraudsters are distributing fake applications that mimic Mir Pay, asking users to install them under the guise of reinstalling the official banking application. After installation, the fraudulent software connects the fraudsters' card to the victim's smartphone.
As explained in the press center of the department, fraudsters use a technology conditionally called "reverse NFC." When approaching an ATM, the victim, using a smartphone, actually transfers cash to someone else's card.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has repeatedly warned about the need to check all applications before installation and not to download programs from dubious sources.
