Another prototype of the new LADA Azimut crossover, which is undergoing road tests, has been spotted in Togliatti. The car is built on a modernized Vesta platform and has a number of fundamental differences from production models.
The car has an impressive ground clearance, widened wheel arches, and 18-inch wheels with five bolts. According to insiders, at least five prototypes have been produced for testing.
As a reminder, the technical characteristics of the "Azimut" are as follows: length - 4416 mm, width - 1838 mm, height 1607 mm, wheelbase is 2675 mm, trunk volume - 508 liters, and ground clearance - 208 mm.
The car is scheduled to be produced in mid-2026. The car is positioned as a B+ class crossover.
A mule is a special test vehicle created to test new technical solutions. Such prototypes are fundamentally different from mock-ups or concept cars. Key characteristics of a mule include the use of a production body, the introduction of experimental units, functionality for full-fledged technical tests, and maximum proximity to real operating conditions.
