Free Calls to Transport Companies' Call Centers for Flight Delays: Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Instructed to Develop a System

The initiative will protect citizens from additional expenses in any flight delay circumstances

The Ministry of Transport of Russia has instructed airlines to provide passengers with the opportunity to make free calls to hotlines during flight delays caused by temporary restrictions on the use of airspace.

The initiative was developed after an appeal from a senator who proposed considering the possibility of waiving fees for such calls during flight schedule disruptions. The instruction is recorded in the minutes of the meeting dedicated to the work of transport enterprises under restrictions.

In accordance with paragraph 11 of the minutes of the meeting on the operation of aviation enterprises and JSC "RZD" during the period of restrictions on the use of airspace, chaired by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Nikitin A.S., airlines are instructed to provide passengers with the opportunity to make free calls to airline call centers during flight delays due to the introduction of temporary restrictions on the use of airspace.
