The new Russian Poseidon torpedo with a nuclear power plant is capable of causing a tsunami that could wash away enemy coastal facilities. Military expert Yuri Knutov spoke about the capabilities of the innovative weapon.
According to him, the Poseidon underwater vehicle has a range of 10-11 thousand km and is several times faster than conventional torpedoes. The expert emphasized that it is difficult to detect Poseidon when approaching the target.
When several torpedoes are used simultaneously, a tsunami is triggered, which washes away naval bases on the coast.
The characteristics of Poseidon are currently unknown. Experts suggested that the length of the product is 16-24 m, and the weight is about 100 tons.
It is believed that Poseidon is capable of carrying a nuclear charge that can cause unacceptable damage to coastal areas.
