Russian scientists from Novosibirsk have developed unique components for vaccines that increase the immunity of animals and help them fight diseases more effectively. These components, known as adjuvants, previously had to be imported. However, due to current restrictions, their supply has become difficult. The new domestic development is designed to ensure independence from foreign analogues.
This is an antibody formation stimulator. Even if the body reacts to certain proteins and produces antibodies, the adjuvant will increase the activity (of production). My chemists and I decided to submit a project. We made three adjuvants, and they are currently undergoing laboratory testing. They are completely non-toxic. There are no analogues of such an adjuvant in Russia.
Adjuvants are components added to vaccines to increase their effectiveness, that is, to enhance the body's immune response. Oil adjuvants Montanide, manufactured in the USA and France, are widely used in animal husbandry. Due to the imposed sanctions, Russian vaccine manufacturers were forced to switch to Asian analogues of these substances. However, according to scientists, this led to the occurrence of side effects in farm animals.
Scientists from the Siberian Federal Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnologies (SFNCA) are participating in stimulant testing on animals. Preclinical studies are planned on birds and rodents, as well as semi-industrial tests at the "Armavir Biological Factory". The agreement with the factory provides for testing of adjuvants in winter and will take several months.
