If WhatsApp is not working: Russia presents a bot for video calls in Telegram

The service was created as an alternative to foreign applications that may not work stably

Kontur.Talk has introduced the Telegram bot @KtalkCallsBot for quickly creating video calls. The service allows users to generate personal meeting links without the need to register or install additional applications.

As the developers explained, the bot was created as an alternative to foreign services that may not work stably.

We want people to be able to maintain their usual business processes and stay in touch with their loved ones in any situation. Talk's bot is a way to quickly organize a video call when foreign services are unavailable.
Vyacheslav Bukharin, lead developer at Kontur.Talk

To start a call, simply go to the bot and send the link to the other person. Participants can join the conversation via a browser from any device. The free version supports screen sharing, text chat, noise cancellation, and a virtual background, and allows meetings with up to 50 people without time limits.

A paid version of the service is available for users who require advanced features. It includes AI call summaries, virtual whiteboards, and cloud storage for recordings.
