Construction of a new foundry complex launched at the Ural automobile plant site

The complex will be equipped with automatic molding lines, induction melting complexes and other modern equipment

A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new foundry complex took place at the Ural automobile plant site. The project is being implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) and VEB.RF. The event was attended by Roman Petrutsa, Director of the IDF.

The total investment in the project will amount to 9.5 billion rubles. Of these, 5 billion rubles are a preferential loan from the IDF, and 2.6 billion rubles are a loan from VEB.RF. The new workshop with an area of 46 thousand square meters will produce up to 45 thousand tons of cast iron per year. They will be used for the production of drive axles and other components of trucks and special equipment.

The complex will be equipped with automatic molding lines, induction melting complexes and other modern equipment. Production is scheduled to begin in 2027. The enterprise will provide not only the needs of the Ural plant, but also other Russian automakers.

The project will help reduce the dependence of the Russian automotive industry on imported components. The new production will create additional jobs in the region and simplify the maintenance of trucks.

Earlier, the dismantling of old foundries was completed on the site and project documentation was prepared. This is not the first joint project of Ural and the IDF aimed at import substitution in the automotive industry.
