Реконструкция Железнодорожного паромного комплекса в Балтийске завершится в марте 2026 года

FSUE Rosmorport is in the process of concluding a contract with a contractor for the work

General Director of FSUE Rosmorport, Sergey Pylin, announced plans for the reconstruction of the Railway Ferry Complex (RFPC) in Baltiysk. He reported this to the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Roman Starovoit, during a working visit by a delegation that also included Deputy Minister Alexander Poshivai and Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Alexey Besprozvannykh.

The reconstruction aims to increase the capacity of the complex, which in 2023 handled 2 million tons of cargo (29,000 wagons) with a design capacity of 1.1 million tons (18,000 wagons). The work includes expanding the private railway tracks from 220 to 320 wagons by building four new railway lines with a total length of 1,795 m. This will allow simultaneous servicing of ferries and container trains.

The contractor for the work will be determined in the near future. The completion of the reconstruction is scheduled for March 2026.

Also during the visit, the progress of the construction of the International Sea Terminal in Pionersky was discussed, including the construction of a passenger terminal and infrastructure facilities. The delegation visited the dual-fuel ferry "Marshal Rokossovsky", which in 2023 became one of the first ships in Russia certified for autonomous operation.
