Stress from Unexpected Calls: One in Five Russians Experiences Discomfort

Women are more prone to stress than men

About 20% of Russians experience stress, anxiety, or irritation when receiving unplanned calls. Analysts at the "MTS Secretary" service found that 70% of those who react negatively to such calls are women. They are more sensitive to such situations.

The main reason for stress, according to respondents, is the lack of clarity about the purpose of the call. Many consider it an invasion of personal space and a violation of emotional comfort. In conditions of high density of digital communication, users prefer to know in advance for what purpose they are being called.

In addition to internal discomfort, unexpected calls can lead to conflicts. Every fifth respondent and every fourth among those who experience stress from calls have faced negative consequences from such calls. In 33% of cases, the conversation ended in a quarrel. Approximately 10% of study participants admitted that they regularly feel guilty for a missed call, especially among extroverts.

Respondents show interest in technologies that help to understand the content of the call in advance or to control the communication process. MTS notes the growing popularity of the "MTS Secretary" service, which helps users filter incoming calls. Over the past year, the number of service subscribers has increased by 15% per month, which indicates a growing need to manage personal digital boundaries.
