Петербургский «Пиларн» получит новое ледокольное судно для работы в сложных условиях в 2026 году

The vessel will improve the efficiency of icebreaking operations in the city's water area

In St. Petersburg, the construction of a new icebreaking vessel for the state institution "Pilarn" will be completed by 2026.

It will become a backup for the icebreaking tug "Nevskaya Zastava", which has been in operation since 2010.

This is important because the new vessel will enhance the city's ability to conduct icebreaking operations and ensure the environmental safety of water areas, especially under increasing pressure on water transport.

Pilarn's tasks include ensuring environmental safety, responding to oil and petroleum product spills in the Neva River, and performing icebreaking operations.
