The Russian automotive brand Evolute, specializing in the production of electric and hybrid vehicles, has announced a planned increase in the level of production localization at its plant in the Lipetsk region. As part of this process, new production lines for welding and painting bodies, as well as a small-assembly line, will be introduced.
The first model to be assembled using full-cycle technology will be the updated Evolute i-Space hybrid crossover in five-seater and seven-seater versions. The presentation of this model took place on July 7, 2025, at the 15th Industrial Exhibition Innoprom in Yekaterinburg. The localized model will switch to assembly using welding and painting of the body in Russia in the third quarter of 2025.
The installation of equipment has been successfully completed at the plant, and commissioning works are currently underway on the welding line, as a result of which the first Evolute car bodies have already been manufactured. At the current stage, technological processes are being worked out, logistics chains are being established, and quality control systems are being implemented. Serial production will begin during the third quarter of 2025.
As part of the preparation for mass production, Russian suppliers of the necessary materials have already been identified — from paints and varnishes to components for cataphoretic treatment. Work has been completed on setting up programs for the robotic application of primers and paints. Comprehensive commissioning of equipment is carried out according to an approved schedule, synchronized with the plans for the start of serial welding. Currently, test runs of the line with new components have been successfully carried out.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the new Evolute i-Space crossover was shown at the Innoprom exhibition.
