Россияне смогут отказаться от спама с 1 августа

New law will allow disabling unwanted mailings through the operator's application

From August 1, 2025, a law will come into force in Russia, giving citizens the right to refuse mass mailings. This was announced by State Duma deputy Anton Nemkin.

You can disable spam in your personal account with the telecom operator or through its mobile application. According to Nemkin, this will reduce the number of unwanted messages by at least half. From September 2025, mass calls without the subscriber's consent will also be prohibited.

The deputy noted that spam is often used by fraudsters. Under the guise of advertising, they send links to malicious sites or offer fake services. In April 2024, the Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadaev said that the department is preparing a ban on advertising calls. According to him, people have become wary of calls from unknown numbers. In most cases, such calls are made by robots.

The new law will simplify the fight against spam. Previously, to unsubscribe, you had to follow the links in the messages themselves, which could be unsafe. Now managing mailings will become more convenient and safer.
