Scammers started selling non-existent access to matches to football fans via messengers

Under the guise of access to the broadcast, victims are persuaded to transfer money

Telephone scammers have begun extorting money from Russians under the guise of selling access to online broadcasts of football matches. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the department, fraudsters find victims in messengers, including in groups of football fans. Posing as employees of video services, they offer paid access to matches and ask for prepayment. After receiving the money, communication with them is cut off.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommended carefully checking platforms before purchasing digital services, and also not transferring funds to the accounts of private individuals. It is especially important to avoid payment upon requests received through unofficial channels.
