The Russian IGLA line will be expanded with new hunting cartridges for rifled and smoothbore weapons. Rostec will launch their mass production, the state corporation's press service reported.
The IGLA family will include:
- The first Russian Shakal cartridge with an expansive homogeneous bullet (its striking element deforms upon hitting the target, significantly increasing the striking effect of the shot) made of copper alloy. The monolithic bullet has a ballistic tip.
- .308 Win with an expansive «SP 150» bullet. The brass nickel-plated jacket reduces copper fouling of the barrel (the process by which copper particles from the bullet are deposited on the inner surface of the barrel, forming a coating). Initial velocity — 750 m/s
- Cartridges with sabot bullets «Lesorub», «Strela» and «Bizon S» for 12 mm gauge smoothbore weapons. Due to the reduced bullet diameter, they have a higher initial velocity.
The "Lesorub" cartridges with steel bullets have no analogues in Russia and are suitable for hunting in bushes; due to their design, they hardly change trajectory even when in contact with grass and small branches.
