According to the AvtoVAZ press service, the presence of the "Renault" stamping on the body of the domestic novelty is due to the fact that the development of the car project began with the participation of French colleagues. Part of the equipment and stamps for the production line were ordered back then, and it is economically impractical to change the stamps or remove the logo of the French company.
Journalist Maxim Kadakov confirmed the statement of the press service:
It's very simple. The stamping equipment was developed back in the days of Renault. I saw the Iskra in this version - sedan, cross, station wagon - back in February 2022. And then the stamps were ready. And of course, they went into production and are used to stamp all the outer panels. And not only the outer ones - but the inner ones too. All this is stamped at AvtoVAZ. In principle, the AvtoVAZ workers could have taken and, conditionally, rubbed out, cut off these Renault letters on the stamps, but they simply didn't bother, didn't spend money on it. In general, what they were originally, these stamps with Renault logos, with the Renault inscription, they remained so
At the same time, the press service once again confirmed the words of AvtoVAZ Director Maxim Sokolov that the level of localization of the car exceeds 90%.
