High-speed catamarans "Sarma" and "Selenga" of the HSC150B project are preparing to go online on Lake Baikal

Hydrofoil vessels are designed for 148 passengers

The newest high-speed catamarans "Sarma" and "Selenga" of the HSC150B project, built by the United Shipbuilding Corporation, are undergoing final preparations for going online.

The vessels were completed on the basis of the East Siberian River Shipping Company in Irkutsk by order of the USC subsidiary, Mashpromleasing. In the future, they will be leased to the operator VSRP.

The catamarans are designed specifically for operation on Lake Baikal. They are designed to carry up to 148 passengers and reach speeds of up to 65 km/h. Due to the design with underwater wings and dynamic unloading, the vessels demonstrate increased efficiency, stability and a low level of environmental impact.

One of the advantages is the possibility of safe access to undeveloped shores, which expands the route network and increases the transport accessibility of coastal areas.
