The "Ulyanovsk" Airport Special Economic Zone has parted ways with its resident, Aerosila LLC, which promised to produce 30 amphibious aircraft annually using Russian technologies. The Ministry of Industry, Investment, and Science of the Ulyanovsk Region initiated the termination of the agreement. The reason is the failure to fulfill the terms of the investment contract.
Since its founding in 2017, the amphibious aircraft manufacturing enterprise has not been built. On July 9, the Arbitration Court of the Ulyanovsk Region decided to terminate the agreement, giving "Aerosila" a month to appeal. However, the likelihood of this is small, as the company did not respond in any way after on-site inspections in 2024, and its representatives did not appear at court hearings.
Aerosila's economic indicators left no chance for the successful implementation of the project. The company, formed at the end of 2016, did not conduct any activity and, at the end of 2023, suffered a loss of 3.8 million rubles, with only seven employees.
Despite this, "Aerosila" had the potential to become one of the largest manufacturers of light aircraft in Russia. It was planned that L-142 and L-162 amphibious aircraft, produced by the Samara-based "Aviatech" enterprise, would be manufactured on the territory of the "Ulyanovsk" SEZ. However, the investor abandoned the project five years ago.
The L-142 amphibious aircraft has a weight of 950 kg, a maximum take-off weight of 1700 kg, a cruising speed of 240 km/h, and a flight range of 2-2.4 thousand km. The L-162 model accommodates one pilot and 5-7 passengers, with a commercial load of 0.5 tons over a distance of 2 thousand km and 1 ton over 1 thousand km, weighs 1.4 tons, and has a cruising speed of 300 km/h.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the deadline for equipping Be-200 aircraft with Russian PD-8 engines has been announced.
