Belarus and Russia jointly presented a modernized version of the BTR-60, designated BTR-60MB3. The project was developed by the 140th repair plant in cooperation with an unnamed Russian defense company. Among the advantages of the new modification are improved combat capabilities, a modified turret configuration, and updated electronic systems.
At the same time, the BTR-60MB3 retained the overall layout, but was equipped with a number of new units. The original gasoline engines were replaced by two Belarusian D-245.12S diesel engines with a total power of 218 hp.
The internal space of the troop compartment was redesigned and equipped with modern electronic systems. The vehicle was equipped with perimeter surveillance cameras connected to on-board screens, which is designed to improve the crew's situational awareness.
Despite the improvements, the BTR-60MB3 still retains a number of design flaws, including a low-power engine for a vehicle weighing almost 10 tons, weak armor protection, and limited troop landing capabilities through hatches.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Mi-28NM helicopters were equipped with S-13DF vacuum missiles: they will penetrate a meter of concrete.
