Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has instructed the Ministry of Digital Development to organize a consortium of Russian developers to create an alternative to foreign ERP systems (software for managing enterprise resources). According to the document published on the Cabinet's website, proposals for the composition of participants and the rules of procedure should be prepared by the end of 2025.
Currently, about 60% of large enterprises in the oil and gas, metallurgical, and machine-building industries continue to use foreign ERP solutions, despite the active development of domestic counterparts. The Ministry of Digital Development noted that the consortium should identify the main barriers for companies to switch to Russian software and propose measures of state support.
It is worth noting that a representative of "1C" stated that full-fledged ERP systems already exist in Russia. According to him, solutions on the "1C:Enterprise" platform have been successfully competing with foreign products for many years.
Previously, similar initiatives have already been discussed within the framework of import substitution of software, but now the process has received specific deadlines.
