Specialists of the Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (TsNIITOCHMASH JSC, part of the Kalashnikov concern) have prepared the first batch of AOB-05 aerosol-forming optoelectronic countermeasure ammunition for shipment to the customer in 2025 (produced since 2014), the concern's press service reported.
AOB-05 is used to protect armored vehicles on the march. In the event of a threat, the projectile is fired in a potentially dangerous direction, creating an impenetrable aerosol cloud for 80-90 m.
The masking screen interferes with the operation of optoelectronic guidance devices of the enemy. The «TsNIITOCHMASH» development suppresses the guidance systems of most anti-tank systems.
AOB-05 can be used at temperatures from -50 to +50 C°.
