The Ural Locomotives plant has delivered the 1600th 3ES6 "Sinara" three-section freight electric locomotive to Russian Railways (JSC "RZD"). This is the most widespread DC locomotive on the national carrier's network, according to the press service of the "Sinara" Group.
Serial production of the plant's own-designed electric locomotives began in 2008. A booster section was manufactured for the "Sinara", which allows to increase productivity by 25% and drive trains weighing almost 10,000 tons on plains and 6,300 tons on sections with a complex profile.
The main feature of the 3ES6 "Sinara" is its modularity. Any block of the electric locomotive can be replaced with a similar one in a few hours. The locomotive is equipped with an advanced microprocessor control system, as well as the BLOK system to ensure traffic safety.
