Lada Priora has become one of the most popular Russian cars due to its price and reliability. However, the model has its drawbacks. Evgeny Zhitnukhin, Commercial Director of the Fresh automotive marketplace, spoke about them.
The body quickly corrodes, especially at the joints of panels and around doors. Also, Lada Priora has a low level of sound insulation in the cabin. The quality of interior materials leaves much to be desired, and the basic configuration does not include many modern active and passive safety systems.
But with proper care, car engines can travel 200–250 thousand kilometers without major repairs. To extend the service life, the expert advised regularly servicing the car and using high-quality fuel and oil.
The mechanical gearbox is also very reliable, Zhitnukhin noted. The average service life is about 150-200 thousand kilometers. The front McPherson suspension lasts approximately 100 thousand kilometers, and the rear beam can withstand even greater mileage. However, silent blocks and ball joints may wear out faster.
Lada Priora is convenient for those looking for an affordable and unpretentious car. Ease of maintenance, availability of spare parts and quick troubleshooting make this model an excellent choice, the expert emphasized.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ clarified the fate of Lada Priora, VAZ-2114 and VAZ-2107. These models are still in demand on the secondary market, and many of their fans hoped that the cars would reappear on sale. But there are no plans to resume production of these cars.
